Marek’s disease is a disease caused by herpes viruses that cause tumors in the internal organs of the wings, skin and muscle tissues and cause inflammation and abnormal enlargement in the peripheral and optic nerves. Although the disease is seen in all ages, 8-18 weeks younger birds are more susceptible. There are certain vaccine strains that are standardized on marek vaccines all over the world. The disease-affecting virus is an enveloped DNA virus within the Herpesvirus family. There are three known serotypes of the disease. Serotype 1; Virulens are classified as moderate and very virulent, and are known as oncogenic virulant viruses. Marek MHV CVI-988 strain, which is included in this group and has medium virulence, is one of them. The Netherlands produced Rispens vaccine with CVI 988 strain. Serotype-2; Viruses in this group include non-oncogenic MHV. This serotype was developed as the most known SB1 vaccine strain and has been used as a vaccine for many years with the vaccine prepared with the Turkey herpes virus (THV). Serotype-3; The virus isolated from turkey does not cause infection in chickens, and monovalent and bivanic vaccines were prepared and used with this strain.
INTENDED USE
Bio-Speedy® Marek Disease Virus (MDV) Pathogen and Vaccine Strains Multiplex Real-Time PCR Detection and Counting Kit is based on the detection of Marek Disease Virus (MDV1), Herpes virus Turkey (HVT) and CVI988 vaccine strain by multiplex real time PCR technique. The test also includes the Internal Control DNA at two different concentrations, which can be used by adding to the sample at the Nucleic Acid isolation step and / or by adding it directly to the PCR reaction. When the test is evaluated, it is expected that the internal control is positive in the HEX channel, then the proliferation curves for MDV1 in the FAM channel, CVI988 in the Cy5 channel and HVT in the ROX channel are examined and the sigmoidal curves are evaluated as positive.
